Volunteers
Volunteers play a critical role at
ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT
This team provides administrative support to church staff so everything runs smoothly at Grace. The schedule is flexible. Just let Kate or Jane know when you're available and what tasks you especially enjoy doing. For example: When you talk with Kate or Jane, let them know your skill set and availability. Commitments vary and are based on project requests. Tasks might include web research, document preparation, editing, and enhancement, folding bulletins or newsletters, creating spreadsheets, tabulating survey results, answering phones, fulfilling printing requests, etc. CONTACT: Kate Galaktianoff or Jane Smith (360) 491-8954.
AUDIO VISUAL
If you know how to operate a computer there are opportunities to run projection software during church meetings and services. Audio technicians set up sound equipment and run the soundboard during Worship Services and various other church events. CONTACT: (Audio) Bob King (360) 459-1225 / (Visual) Larry Martin (360) 753-3671.
CHILDCARE
Many times a lack of childcare can become a barrier for those seeking to be involved to a greater extent at Grace. Volunteers in this ministry provide safe and nurturing care for children during church events, classes and times of worship and fellowship. There are many opportunities to serve during the day, evening and weekend. For example: Volunteering once a week or once a month to help a particular ministry. Anytime we offer an event offering childcare, your offer to volunteer would be a blessing to our church and those needing childcare to attend. You're welcome to specify the age group(s) you would prefer to work with and how often you're available.

COFFEE
This is a team of people that creates a warm and friendly atmosphere before and after services by offering tea and coffee. This is a simple and effective way to create an environment that facilitates connection among people. For example: You could assist with the purchase of supplies, preparation of coffee and hot water for tea, preparation of occasional treats, and clean-up. Help is needed before and after each of our weekend services. We'll work with your availability.

MAINTENANCE
Your trade or mechanical skills could be a huge blessing to our church! Please let us know what you can do. Periodically, we have special projects requiring the assistance of a handyman or somebody with a knack for repair or “home improvement”. If you're willing to be on-call for an occasional special request, let Carson know you're out there! Carson will match up the task with your particular skill set. For example: Prior requests have included building choir platforms, electrical and AC repair, snaking drains, heavy lifting / moving, mounting TVs and display racks, spackling/paint touch-up, etc. Commitment is based on need. You're always welcome to say “No” if the nature or timing of the project does not work out for you. CONTACT: Carson Fisher.
PARKING SAFETY TEAM (primarily needed for holiday service times)
This ministry provides a friendly welcome by directing visitors and attendees to available parking and helps people exit our parking lot safely and smoothly in between services and special events. Serving in this way provides a great boost to our hospitality and makes our expanding parking area safer. For example: You wave people in, greet them with a smile, and direct them to available spaces. On occasion you may help to usher in a parent with younger kids they're walking through the parking lot. Just let us know what works for you in terms of Sunday service time and frequency. CONTACT: Pastor Paul Hicks (360) 491-8954.
[CRISIS] PRAYER TEAM
This team prays on a continuing basis for individuals or their families within the church in crisis based on prayer calls to the church office during the week. All prayer requests are kept confidential. If you feel the Lord has called you into a position of prayer, and are willing to take the responsibility to devote time to pray each day for submitted prayer requests, while maintaining complete confidentiality, contact Yvonne. For example: A designated volunteer or the church office staff shares prayer needs with you based on calls received. Each member receives several requests each week. CONTACT: Kate Galaktianoff or Jane Smith(360) 491-8954.
WELCOMING TEAM
Ushers and greeters warmly welcome people to our weekend services by greeting them and providing direction (to a seat or a classroom) as requested. The people who make up this team make the first impression on people coming to Grace. This role also involves looking for ways to help people feel more at home and comfortable in worship along with introducing newcomers to other people in our church. There are occasions when welcome team members will provide guidance on how people can get more connected. For example: You welcome people as they come to our weekend services and may be called upon to help them with other needs. Also, you provide assistance in handing out bulletins and receiving the offering. Commitment may be weekly, monthly, or anything in between. You're invited to tell us the service(s) that work for you.
